Third 104-metre Bronto for Jalo&Jalo

S104HLA JaloJalo

Nordic rental company Jalo&Jalo has added a brand new 104-metre S104HLA aerial platform to their already extensive fleet. With its recent purchase, Jalo&Jalo strengthens its position as one of the leading service providers in the Nordic countries, especially with big units. Its fleet is just over 60 aerial platforms and includes four 90-metre S90HLAs, and with the latest addition, three S104HLAs. Demand in the Nordic countries is on the rise, and Jalo&Jalo is ready to respond.

We are extremely busy at the moment. All our current aerials are deployed, and we are recruiting 11 new operators. This S104HLA will help us not only on wind farms, but on facade and construction worksites as well.”

Sami Jalo, CEO, Jalo&Jalo

The S104HLA is mounted on a Volvo 12×4/*8 chassis, which allows compact configuration that is easy to drive in both worksite conditions and regular traffic. The cabin is in its original place, whereas the older S104HLAs required the cabin to be lowered in front of the front axle, making the front approach angle smaller. The gross vehicle weight is 63.5 tonnes. More importantly, the axle weight does not exceed 12 tonnes. This is very beneficial when operating in Sweden because an escort vehicle is unnecessary, reducing operating costs. This also opens the door to Norway, because the older S104HLAs were too heavy to drive on Norwegian roads.

With two telescopic booms, a 6-section main boom and a 3-section cage boom, the S104HLA provides a working outreach of 33 metres and a working height of 104 metres. Jalo&Jalo chose an extendable working cage with a 600 kg safe working load and maximum width of 3.7 metres. Other options include hydraulic and water outlets in the cage, a material winch, a generator and an emergency back-up system.
