Elevating Fire & Rescue Standards in Northern Germany

The voluntary fire brigade of Karlshagen on the island of Usedom in Northern Germany, has expanded their range of operations with the acquisition of a new city-ready Bronto F32TLK aerial rescue platform. The F32TLK is built according to DIN 14701-1 standard, and is a welcomed addition to their fleet as it elevates the operational readiness and capabilities of the region which is crucial especially during summer when domestic tourists populate the scenic seaside resort.

Versatility and flexibility in use

The Bronto F32TLK aerial platform offers an excellent combination of flexibility and technical performance. The rescue cage is spacious, stable and can carry high loads up to 500 kg, which makes it ideal for a wide range of applications.

“We use the TLK not only for firefighting operations, but also for rescue missions such as carrying aid or recovering people in wheelchairs from high floors of apartment buldings.”

Eric Fisch, Firefighter, Karlshagen Volunteer Fire Brigade

The aerial platform has a cage boom that allows movement both up and down even at height. With a maximum rescue height of 32 metres and below ground level reach of 5.7 metres, the F32TLK can also be used effectively in difficult environments such as harbors or rough terrain.

“Thanks to the 8-metre cage boom, we can even rescue people from the water.”

Kevin Chauhan, Firefighter, Karlshagen Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Technical highlights for the extreme demands

The Bronto F32TLK is equipped with an intelligent load hook in the boom that can lift loads of up to 2.2 tonnes. This considerably extends the vehicle’s range of applications, particularly in the event of technical assistance such as traffic accidents or heavy recovery work.

“With this machine, we are equipped for a variety of challenges, and we enjoy working with it.”

Eric Fisch, Firefighter, Karlshagen Volunteer Fire Brigade.
